At Hillsborough YMCA, we take pride in helping to ensure our community stays fit and healthy. More importantly, we want you to have fun and love your workout! Our caring and dedicated staff is ready to help you reach your fitness goals with the right motivation to keep you on track. Our health and wellness director, certified trainers, and nutrition coaches are always available for support.

In addition to the more than 50 group and water exercise classes each week, and beginner fitness program (free with your Y membership), we also offer many additional options from individual personal training to pairs and group training.

If you’ve just begun your fitness journey, your new Y membership affords you access to our Getting to Know You Program, which includes:

  • Complimentary equipment orientation
  • Complimentary health assessment
  • Complimentary 30-minute personal training session
  • For kids ages 11-13: a wellness badge (after completing the complimentary orientation) that indicates being allowed to exercise independently

Our Programs & Classes

Group Exercise

Our group fitness classes include a little bit of everything. We have Zumba® (for beginners, active older adults, and advanced), strength & conditioning and sculpting classes, cardio/HIIT classes, yoga and Pilates for all fitness levels, cycling, circuit training, cardio kickboxing, and more!

Personal Training

Interested in taking one-on-one or small group personal training? We offer personal training sessions for adults, teens, and children with sessions ranging from 30 to 60 minutes. To keep yourself on track with your fitness goals, ask about our FitCommit program - an easy way to pay monthly for your personal training sessions.Our introductory Tripack offers members new to personal training 3 45-minute sessions for $99.

Youth & Adult Running Club

Greater Somerset County YMCA’s Running Clubs provides a fun, supportive environment to discover the sport of running. Our Running Clubs are led by certified USA Track and Field coaches and offer a fun and supportive environment for runners of all ages. Our Youth Running Club helps students develop the skills and stamina needed to walk, jog or run for 30 minutes without stopping. It's a great option for kids interested in track and field. This 10-week club, offered at Hillsborough YMCA, is a great option for kids interested in Track and Field. Adult Running Club workouts are based upon your goals, whether you're planning to run your first 5K or preparing for a marathon. Club members will receive a free club t-shirt.

Active Older Adults/Senior Fitness

Being healthy never gets old, and we've designed classes specifically for active older adults in mind. Our experienced and friendly staff can guide you in choosing activities and classes that will help your overall fitness and well-being. Some of our classes include functional fitness, Pilates, yoga, open pickleball, and a walking club. You can also request a complimentary fitness orientation to learn how to use our cardiovascular and strength equipment.

Youth Fitness

In addition to our group exercise classes and wellness center access, we also offer additional youth-specific exercise classes that are designed to encourage kids ages 7 to 13 to develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime. Classes we offer include yoga, a variety of cardiovascular and strength training, and Zumba.
