MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP

We want all of our members to get the most out of their experiences at the Y! A complimentary 30-minute fitness orientation is available to new and existing members to help you start on the path to success and reach your wellness goals. Our trained staff will take you on a guided tour of the Wellness Center, show you how to operate equipment, and explain what you need to know to help you feel comfortable, including:

  • Fitness center tour: Get to know the layout and equipment at your Y.
  • Activity recommendations: Review equipment safety, setup and proper form. Get guidance on intensity and frequency, based on your current fitness level in the following areas:
    • Cardiovascular activity
    • Strength training
    • Group fitness

YOUTH ORIENTATIONS

Youth ages 12 years are invited to participate in indoor fitness in our Wellness Centers after completing a FREE youth fitness orientation. Our trained staff will instruct youth members on age-appropriate, proper workout techniques, show them how to operate equipment safely, and explain all they need to know to feel comfortable, including:

  • Fitness center tour: Get to know the layout and equipment at your Y.
  • Activity recommendations: Review equipment safety, setup and proper form. Get age-appropriate guidance on intensity and frequency, based on your current fitness level in the following areas:
    • Cardiovascular activity
    • Strength training

Once youth have successfully completed the program, they will be able to work out in the Fitness Center without parental supervision. Visit the Welcome Center at Hillsborough YMCA, Princeton YMCA, Somerset Hills YMCA, or Somerville YMCA to schedule a youth orientation today.
