BASKING RIDGE, NJ – Somerset Hills YMCA, a branch of Greater Somerset County YMCA, spearheaded a Feminine Care Product Drive in celebration of Women’s History Month. From February 15 to March 20, Somerset Hills YMCA rallied community support to collect essential items including pads, tampons, liners, menstrual cups, and sanitary wipes, along with empty personal care bags.

Community members participated by dropping off donations at the branch’s Welcome Center or by directly purchasing items from the Y’s Amazon Wish List.

Last week, Somerset Hills YMCA organized a special volunteer packing event, bringing together dedicated individuals to assemble over 200 feminine care bags. These bags will be distributed to local women’s shelters. Additionally, a portion of the care bags will be placed in YMCA women’s restrooms and locker rooms, ensuring accessibility for all members.

Eddie Norgard, Associate Branch Executive Director at Somerset Hills YMCA, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming community response, stating, “At So

merset Hills YMCA, our volunteers and community members help drive our mission. We are deeply honored to assemble feminine care bags that will not only benefit girls and women in our local community but also support those within our YMCA branches.”
