Somerset Hills YMCA Celebrates SHE-ROES During Women’s History Month

Basking Ridge, NJ – Throughout Women’s History Month, Somerset Hills YMCA, a branch of Greater Somerset County YMCA, took the opportunity to honor remarkable women within its community, affectionately dubbed SHE-ROES.

Members, volunteers, and staff enthusiastically submitted nominations for women who have made a significant impact on those around them. The Y’s Cultural Engagement Committee selected Sue Diebold, Group Exercise Instructor at Somerset Hills YMCA, as this year’s standout SHE-RO.

Sue’s influence is profound, as echoed through nominations: “She inspires and motivates people every day with a caring and supportive style. Her dedication to building a highly effective Parkinson’s program with enthusiasm, energy, and inclusiveness is truly commendable. My husband has been a participant in Sue’s Total Parkinson’s Zoom and in-person classes for several years. Sue consistently demonstrates patience, kindness, and care, leaving him with increased energy and strength after each session. The YMCA is indeed fortunate to have such a highly informed and skilled instructor.”

At Greater Somerset County YMCA, the dedicated people who make up our diverse staff are the foundation of the YMCA. Each person plays an important role in making the Y a welcoming, productive, and vital resource in our communities.

No matter what role you take on at the Y, you can take pride in the knowledge that your contributions are instrumental in empowering young people, promoting health and well-being, and igniting positive change within your community.
