Music, Rhythm, and You!
In partnership with the Neurodiversity Ambassadors of Basking Ridge, Somerset Hills YMCA is excited to provide a music program dedicated to the connection, enjoyment, and fulfillment of neurodiverse (or special needs) children in the community.
This weekly program will focus on exposure of music, rhythm, instruments, percussion, and friendship for those individuals who identify as neurodiverse.
Neurodiversity is a spectrum that can range from learning diversity to autism spectrum to anything in between. The Neurodiversity Ambassadors will lead a weekly class tailored to the special needs of our participants. Focusing on group connection and learning, the volunteers will pair up with one to three children to guide them through the class.
Parents and caretakers are welcome to join us or drop off and pick up later. Children of all ability levels are welcome to join us – we only ask that everyone embrace the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. We are FOR ALL!
