Greater Somerset County YMCA Spreads Holiday Cheer with Annual Giving Tree
Basking Ridge, New Jersey, December 22, 2023 – Embracing the spirit of giving, Greater Somerset County YMCA continues its annual tradition of bringing joy and making holiday wishes come true through the heartwarming initiative known as the Giving Tree.
Each year, from November to early December, Greater Somerset County YMCA branches host the Giving Tree gift drive. Trees are decorated with ornaments bearing a child’s name, age, and a desired gift. Members, staff, and volunteers are invited to select and purchase gifts for these children, fostering a sense of community and generosity.
Santa’s helpers, the Bernardsville Township PBA 357, visited Somerset Hills YMCA, a branch of Greater Somerset County YMCA loaded with lots of gifts and bringing the magic of the season to life. Adding to the holiday generosity, the Y also received an abundance of Giving Tree gifts from the student organizers at William Annin Middle School, showcasing the community’s dedication to spreading joy.

Our annual Giving Tree not only brings smiles to children but also provides relief to parents and guardians who may otherwise struggle to fulfill holiday wishes,” says Eddie Norgard, Branch Associate Executive Director at Somerset Hills YMCA.
