Aquatics Classes for All Ages at Somerset Hills YMCA
Swim Lessons
Swimming is a critical, potentially life-saving skill that everyone should learn. At Somerset Hills YMCA, our swim lesson classes include Swim Starters for acclimating infants and toddlers to the water, Swim Basics to teach kids foundational water safety and swimming techniques, and Swim Strokes to help experienced swimmers – both children and adults – hone their stroke techniques.
Swim Teams
Kids and teens ages 7-18 that want to improve their swimming endurance, stroke skills, and mental stamina can join our competitive swimming league. 12+ swimmers with developmental disabilities can join our Somerset Hills Sea Wasps Special Olympics Swim Team.
Masters Swimming
Somerset Hills YMCA is proud to have achieved the U.S. Masters Swimming Gold Club designation for this adult swim program. Swimmers will have the opportunity to connect with their community as they work on refining their own swimming techniques and staying active in the water.
Family & Open Swim
Kids will have the time of their lives racing down the water slides in our family pool, while teens and adults can practice their strikes in our two lap pools during open swim.
Safety Around Water
In this program, kids who have never taken swimming lessons will learn vital skills for getting used to water and staying safe around it.
Water Exercise
The great thing about working out in the water is that you can build muscles and stamina without the rigors of a traditional workout. Somerset Hills YMCA offers several different aquatic exercise programs, including Aqua Light & Fit, where swimmers can gain strength without straining sore muscles, and Aqua Zumba®, an energetic, dance-themed workout class in the water.
Lifeguard & CPR Training Courses
Becoming a lifeguard is a great way to learn skills that can help you keep everyone else safe in the water. Our training courses will give you the chance to earn certifications in first aid, CPR/AED, and lifeguarding.
