Aquatics & Swimming at Princeton YMCA
At Princeton YMCA, a branch of Greater Somerset County YMCA, we offer swimming lessons and other aquatics programs for both kids and adults. At our Y, you can enjoy open swim in our 4-lane indoor lap pool, work out in our low-impact aquatic exercise classes, and master your swim strokes with lessons for all ability levels. Whether it’s your first time in the water or you’re training as a competitive swimmer, you’ll find great choices to hone your aquatic capabilities in a community environment.
Our Aquatics Programs for All Ages at Princeton YMCA
Swim Lessons
Swimming is a vital skill that allows you to explore a whole new world of exercise and fun – and one that could someday save your life. Princeton YMCA offers Swim Starters to help young kids get comfortable with the water, Swim Basics to instruct kids as they hone their swimming skills and stamina, and Swim Strokes, which allows members of all ages to continue mastering their swim technique.
Swim Teams
Competitive swimming is the best way to train your swimming abilities to their peak level. As part of our co-ed Princeton YMCA Pirates Swim Team, you’ll develop conditioning and technique while competing against local swim clubs.
Masters Swimming
Our U.S. Masters Swimming program has achieved the prestigious Gold Club designation. Members who join this program will find a supportive community environment where they’re encouraged to improve their swimming abilities to whatever level they hope to achieve.
Family & Open Swim
If you want to train your underwater endurance and swim strokes on your own, you can enjoy open swim time in our 4-lane indoor lap pool.
Safety Around Water
In this program, kids ages 4-12 will participate in fun and educational exercises that teach them how to be comfortable and keep safe in water.
Water Exercise
Aquatic exercises are a great choice for anyone looking for low-impact workouts where they won’t get overheated. Princeton YMCA’s water exercise classes include Aqua Zumba®, Deep Water Medley, Aqua Light & Fit, and more.
Lifeguard & CPR Training Courses
Do you want to be certified as a lifeguard or learn other important first aid skills? As an American Red Cross Authorized Provider, our YMCA teaches courses to help members ages 15 and up achieve certifications in lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and first aid.
