Hillsborough YMCA

Childcare & Camps

At Hillsborough YMCA, we’re here to help families get back to what matters most: nurturing the potential of every child. We believe in nurturing the full potential of our community's youth, because we know our future will be brighter when we work to empower the next generation of changemakers.

From the littlest learners at 6 weeks old to preparing for high school and beyond, the Y supports the needs of working families through child care options at every age. Our Early Education Center, Full Day KindergartenSchool Age Child CareVacation Care, and Summer Camp programs offer a safe, nurturing environment that give your children the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive at their own individual level while exploring their interests.

They’ll have fun while building healthy and trusting relationships and self-confidence through our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Age-Appropriate Curriculum

From 6 weeks old to getting ready for 1st Grade and beyond, our programs provide children with experiential learning and social emotional development opportunities – all guided by our caring Y staff.

More Than Healthy Snacks & Homework Help

Before and after school hours play an essential role in ensuring healthy development of our children – that’s why we reinforce what they learn in school through academic support and social interaction with activities like: homework time, reading, sports, games, arts and more. They’ll make friends, have fun and learn new skills that will carry them into their bright future.

Caring, Well-Trained Staff

Our staff is comprised of caring, nurturing individuals who are required to complete a minimum of twelve hours of on-going training on an annual basis and are certified in First Aid and CPR.

Committed to Your Child’s Safety

In an effort to continually improve the safety and security of our YMCA, we utilize a system called Raptor which instantly screens visitors against registered sex offender databases in all 50 states. This is in addition to sex offender screenings the Y regularly conducts on all members, participants, and staff. All authorized pick-ups must present a state or government issued photo ID every time when picking up a child.

Y For All

We believe that everyone—no matter who they are or where they’re from—deserves the opportunity and the resources necessary to reach their full potential. In addition to any community subsidies families may qualify for, the Y also provides direct financial assistance to qualifying families enrolled in our child care programs—made possible through the generosity of our Y’s Annual Campaign donors and proceeds from special fundraising events. Visit gscymca.org/fa to learn more.

Safety first at the Y—always. Please be assured that your safety – and the safety of all our children and child care staff – is our number one priority. We’re following guidelines from health experts and local officials to ensure that our Child Care programs and facilities meet the highest standards for health and safety, and we have modified our child care policies and procedures to facilitate all recommended safe physical/social distancing practices. All updated YMCA practices are based on the current guidelines and recommendations set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), New Jersey Department of Children and Families (NJDCF) Child Care Licensing, as well as the State and local Health Departments.

All of our Y families have an important role to play in the health and safety of all children in our care. We’ve implemented some new policies and procedures in the interest of looking out for everyone’s safety. Be ready to go and make the most of your child's day with the Y. Visit gscymca.org/whattoexpect and learn more about what the Y is doing and what all members and participants will do to help ensure a safe experience for all.

We’re here to help you focus on what matters most: your health, your family and friends, and your community. The Y isn’t a building. It’s people from all backgrounds and walks of life who come together to improve their lives, nurture their families and strengthen their community, together.
