At Franklin Township YMCA, we know working parents have busy schedules. Whether the Y is providing care in your child’s school or in our own facilities, you can rest assured knowing your children are in a safe, supervised space where they can continue to focus on cognitive, physical and social development. Our Y is actively engaged with Franklin Township Public Schools regarding their K-5 school year reopening plans. We are here to support our schools by offering quality, complimentary support programs—whether your child is returning to school in-person and/or virtually.

Franklin Township YMCA is pleased to plan to offer families the following school age child care program options for the 2020-2021 academic year:

  • School-Day Care – Offered 5 days per week Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm at Franklin Park School. Our Y staff will ensure students complete their virtual learning requirements each day, providing personal support as necessary.
  • Full-Day Care – Offered 5 days per week Monday through Friday from 8:00am-6:00pm at Franklin Park School. Our Y staff will ensure students complete their virtual learning requirements each day, providing personal support as necessary, followed by supervised after care enrichment activities and unstructured play time.

More Than Healthy Snacks & Homework Help

Before and after school hours play an essential role in ensuring healthy development of our children – that’s why we reinforce what they learn in school through academic support and social interaction with activities like: homework time, reading, sports, games, arts and more. They’ll make friends, have fun and learn new skills that will carry them into their bright future.

Caring, Well-Trained Staff

Our staff is comprised of caring, nurturing individuals who are required to complete a minimum of twelve hours of on-going training on an annual basis and are certified in First Aid and CPR.

Committed to Your Child’s Safety

In an effort to continually improve the safety and security of our YMCA, we utilize a system called Raptor which instantly screens visitors against registered sex offender databases in all 50 states. This is in addition to sex offender screenings the Y regularly conducts on all members, participants, and staff. All authorized pick-ups must present a state or government issued photo ID every time when picking up a child.

Y For All

We believe that everyone—no matter who they are or where they’re from—deserves the opportunity and the resources necessary to reach their full potential. In addition to any community subsidies families may qualify for, the Y also provides direct financial assistance to qualifying families enrolled in our child care programs—made possible through the generosity of our Y’s Annual Campaign donors and proceeds from special fundraising events. Visit to learn more.

Safety first at the Y—always. Please be assured that your safety – and the safety of all our children and child care staff – is our number one priority. We’re following guidelines from health experts and local officials to ensure that our Child Care programs and facilities meet the highest standards for health and safety, and we have modified our child care policies and procedures to facilitate all recommended safe physical/social distancing practices. All updated YMCA practices are based on the current guidelines and recommendations set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), New Jersey Department of Children and Families (NJDCF) Child Care Licensing, as well as the State and local Health Departments.
