What to Expect at the Y

WE’RE EXCITED TO WELCOME YOU BACK!

Here’s what to expect so you can make the most of your visit to the Y – whether virtually or in person at our branches

Please be assured that your safety is our number one priority. We have put careful thought and planning into our reopening in conjunction with the phases of New Jersey’s Restart and Recovery Plan. We’re following guidelines from health experts and local officials to ensure that our facilities meet the highest standards for hygiene and safety, and we have modified our policies and programs to facilitate safe physical/social distancing practices.

At the Y, we are working hard so that every person who walks through our doors or participates in our outdoor programming can stay safe and protected while getting back to what matters most: your health, your family and friends, and your community. We’re so excited to welcome you back!

SAFETY FIRST

We all have an important role to play in the health and safety of our Y community. We’ve implemented some new policies and procedures in the interest of looking out for everyone’s safety. We are asking all members to keep the following in mind:

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE Y

  • Controlled access to facilities. For everyone’s safety, we are limiting the number of members participating in programming at the Y as well as inside the Y at one time to ensure safe distancing. Members should follow all posted directional signage for a safe experience for all.
  • No Contact check-in.

    • Have their temperature taken
    • Hand sanitize if entering the facility
    • Answer a few simple questions, including:
      • Have you taken medication to lower a fever in the past 24 hours; temperature over 100.4?

        • If so, are these symptoms normal for you or the person in your household? (i.e., allergies, asthma)
      • Have you been in close contact with a test-confirmed COVID-19 positive individual in the past 14 days?
      • The State has issued an incoming travel advisory that all individuals entering New Jersey from states with a significant spread of COVID-19 should quarantine for 14-days after leaving that state. Have you traveled anywhere that would subject you to this travel advisory?
  • Proper PPE for all Y staff at all times as appropriate for each role and program area, including face masks/coverings. You might not be able to see it, but know we are smiling from ear to ear because we are happy to see you!
