WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN VISITING THE Y FOR LAP SWIMMING

We all have an important role to play in the health and safety of our Y community. We’ve implemented some new policies and procedures in the interest of looking out for everyone’s safety. Be ready to go and make the most of your lap swimming appointment at the Y when you know What to Expect:

  • Come prepared in swim attire and with your own towel, water, and kickboard/fins, if necessary
  • Arrive at the Y and put on your face mask/covering as you exit your vehicle
  • Head to the designated entrance for member check-in to have your temperature taken, hand sanitize, and answer a few simple questions
  • Proceed to your designated belongings areas next to your designated lane and side of the pool by following the one-way directional signage
  • Remove your mask, place it with your belongings, and get into the pool. DO NOT wear a face mask in the water due to the increased risk of drowning.
  • Enjoy your swim! Lap swim times are presently limited to a maximum of 40 minutes to allow for cleaning of the entire pool deck between member appointment times.
  • When finished, head to your designated belongings area, put your face mask/covering back on, gather your belongings, and prepare to leave the pool area.
  • Follow the directional signage to exit—being mindful to maintain distance from other members—and depart to your vehicle
  • Thanks for coming to the Y and we’ll see you soon!
