Branches with Wellness Centers include Hillsborough YMCA, Somerset Hills YMCA and Somerville YMCA. Grab your key fob and virtually check in to the Y to schedule your Wellness Center appointment!

Q: When is the Y open for members?
A: Our Wellness Centers at Hillsborough YMCA, Somerset Hills YMCA and Somerville YMCA are open daily for members! Below are our new modified hours of operation:

  • Monday to Friday 5:00am - 8:00pm
  • Saturday and Sunday 7:00am - 1:00pm

Q: Is there a limit to how many people may be in the Y building?
A: Yes, each part of our YMCA facilities are operating under a temporary revised maximum occupancy as mandated by state and local officials.

Q: Why do I have to make an appointment before visiting the Y?
A: In order to accommodate as many members as possible within mandated maximum capacities, the Y has implemented an easy-to-use appointment system on our website. Members simply make their Wellness or Aquatics appointment by visiting: https://gscymca.org/appointments

Q: Why ages 13-15 with a parent?
For the health and safety of all, the Y presently requires all 13-15-year-olds utilize the Wellness Center with a parent accompanying them for the duration of their visit. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation as we work to reopen our facilities to as many members as possible within current state and local official guidelines.

Q: I have a 19-year-old child on our family membership. Can my 13-15-year-old visit the Wellness Center with them?
A: Yes. Any legal adult age 18+ that is an active member on your family's membership unit may accompany your 13-15-year-old to the Wellness Center.

Q: How long may I stay at the Y during my visit?
A: In order to accommodate as many members as possible within mandated maximum capacities, Wellness and Aquatics appointments currently have a maximum duration of 40 minutes from the start of your scheduled appointment time. This is to allow for sufficient cleaning and disinfection between members to support the health and well-being of all who utilize our facilities. Members can make their Wellness or Aquatics appointment by visiting: https://gscymca.org/appointments

Q: Are locker rooms open?
A: No. For the safety of our members and staff, locker rooms remain closed at this time. Cubbies/storage for belongings in the Wellness Center are also unavailable at this time. Members should enter the Y ready to work out in appropriate fitness attire and carry their belongings in a small gym bag that stays with them.

Q: Are restrooms open?
A: Yes, but restrooms are NOT to serve as changing areas.

Q: Are water fountains available?
A: Yes, but only for the purpose of refilling reusable water bottles.

Q: Is Kidz Korner babysitting open?
A: No. To comply with mandated maximum occupancies, we have reserved all facility access to members visiting to utilize our Wellness Centers and aquatics facilities for personal fitness purposes.

Q: Why are some services not available?
A: We’ve been carefully planning to reopen our facilities and reactivate key programs in the safest manner possible so you can access the services and support you miss and need the most. Some services like café/vending machine/coffee service will not be available until local health officials deem them safe to resume. Similarly, locker rooms, showers, and saunas will be temporarily unavailable and members will notice seating removed from common areas. These efforts are for the health and safety of all.

Q: What safety measures is the Y taking to help protect members from COVID-19?
A: As we welcome the community back to the Y, we want to assure you that safety remains our top priority. Where there are no guarantees, the YMCA has put in place measures to keep staff and members safe. We have taken all steps recommended by state and local officials to ensure the safety of our members, program participants, volunteers and staff. This means things will look and feel a little different. When you come back to the Y, this is what you can expect:

  • All members and staff will be screened before being allowed to enter the facilities
  • All staff will wear PPE and members are required to wear face masks/coverings as well
  • Hand sanitization stations are located throughout the building
  • Equipment is limited and signage is on the equipment and floors to distinguish 6 foot social distancing
  • Enhanced cleaning of equipment and spaces with higher frequency, please be patient if your workout has a short delay for cleaning
