YMCA GXPO 2020: Greater Somerset County YMCA’s Group Fitness Expo

 

Join us on Saturday, September 12th from 10:00am to 1:00pm at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater, NJ—the home of the Somerset Patriots!

Fall back into healthy habits together with the Y—all outside in the fresh air of a stadium outfield! Experience a fun sampling of 20-minute mini group exercise classes led by some of your favorite Greater Somerset County YMCA certified instructors. There’s something for every age and ability!

This event is FREE and open to the entire community.*

YMCA GXPO 2020 EVENT SCHEDULE

  • 9:45am - Doors open for attendee check-in and temperature checks
  • 10:00am - Welcome!

  • 10:15am - 10-min stretch
  • 10:30am - BOOTCAMP

    • A nonstop, full body workout that combines cardio, endurance and stretching. Participants will engage in plyometric (explosive movements) exercises with small rest periods in between exercises for a challenging and exciting fitness session. Come to improve cardiovascular endurance, strength, speed, agility, and to have fun doing it!
  • 10:50am - Hydration break
  • 11:00am - ZUMBA®

    • Zumba® fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away. Dance steps to irresistible international music, combined with aerobic exercises, tone your entire body in a dynamic, exciting and effective way. Our goal is simple: We want you to love working out, and to get hooked.
  • 11:20am - Hydration break
  • 11:30am - YOGA

    • Let us help you get “centered”. Our instructors will lead you through a series of poses that will build strength, flexibility, and lengthen your muscles. Stretch and strengthen, relax and restore as you move through poses connecting breath to movement. Modifications provided to make this class accessible for everyone!
  • 11:50am - Hydration break
  • 12:00pm - 10-min PLANK PARTY!

    • Build core strength with 30-second plank holds! Plank parties are quick and effective for building strength to compliment your yoga practice and other fitness routines. Plank it up and adore your core!
  • 12:15pm - Hydration break
  • 12:30pm -ZUMBA®

WHAT TO BRING TO THE EVENT

Make the most of your visit with us at the ballpark.

  • Equip for exercise - Remember to come to the event dressed in appropriate fitness attire and footwear—sneakers are best! Bring a yoga mat or a towel to exercise on—and a small towel to wipe sweat. That’s all you need to enjoy the entire fitness lineup!
  • Hydrate like a pro - Bring a bottle of water with you to ensure you stay healthy and hydrated while working up a sweat with us! Stadium concessions will not be open during this event.
  • Fit for fun in the sun - Apply your sunscreen and any bug repellent prior to entering the stadium. Sprays of any kind are prohibited on the stadium field. 
  • Pack a snack - In it for the long haul? Great! Pack a small healthy snack to keep your energy up! Remember to take all trash with you as you exit the field and dispose in proper receptacles or take home with you. Thanks for doing your part to help the environment!
  • Restrooms available - Put your mask on when leaving your personal workout space and head up to the main concourse via the 3rd base line—making sure to keep at least 6 feet between you and others for safety. Masks required while inside the restrooms and please observe posted social distancing signs. Return to the field and a personal workout space via the 1st base line and resume the fitness fun!
  • Fight food insecurity - Shelf-stable food donations to this FREE community event are recommended and very appreciated. All shelf-stable food donations support Greater Somerset County YMCA's Food Security Project by stocking the county's only 24/7 little free food pantries and supporting food distribution efforts in partnership with local nonprofit pantries. Thank you for supporting the Y's ongoing mission work to help strengthen our communities!

 


AT THE Y, SAFETY FIRST

We all have an important role to play in the health and safety of our community. We’ve implemented a few key things to keep in mind in the interest of looking out for everyone’s safety.

Be ready to go when you know what to expect at YMCA GXPO 2020:

  • Arrive at TD Bank Ballpark and put on your face mask/covering as you exit your vehicle 
  • Proceed to the attendee check-in station at the main gate to have your temperature taken, answer a few simple questions, and sign our standard waiver
  • Follow signs to make your way down to the field on the 1st base side and to your designated personal workout space 
  • You may remove your mask when you are within your personal workout space and while you exercise  
  • When you are finished, put your face mask/covering back on
  • Exit the field from the 3rd base line and make your way up to the concourse and out the main gate—being mindful to maintain distance from others—and depart to your vehicle
