Hispanic Heritage Month acknowledges the crucial role and celebrates the many contributions, diverse cultures, and extensive histories of the American Latinx community. Come celebrate with us!

Hispanic Heritage Month Events happening at Greater Somerset County and the Surrounding Communities:

Somerset Hills YMCA
  • Family Fun Night on September 18th from 6:15–8:15 pm. Join us for a special evening celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! Enjoy a Hispanic heritage film, arts and crafts, family swim and slides, and an open rock wall..

  • Hispanic Heritage Group Exercise Classes featuring Hispanic heritage music in our Wellness and Aquatics classes.
  • Hispanic Heritage Month Trivia with fun questions and prizes.
  • Hispanic Heritage Fun Facts to learn more about the cultures, traditions, and history celebrated throughout the month.
  • Recipe Card Station featuring traditional Hispanic recipes for members to discover and take home.
Bridgewater and Somerville YMCA’s
  • Movie Night on October 2nd from 6–8 pm. Come watch Encanto, enjoy light refreshments like popcorn, and relax with your family. Chairs will be provided, and families are encouraged to bring their own blankets for a cozy movie night experience.

  • Family Floaty Party on October 9th from 7–8 pm. Join us for a fun family pool event featuring Hispanic-themed music.

  • Group Exercise Classes throughout the month featuring Hispanic-themed music during GroupEx and AquaEx classes.
  • Weekly Hispanic Heritage Trivia with a new trivia question each week. Everyone who answers correctly will be entered into a drawing for a prize at the end of the week, along with a fun cultural fact.
  • Spanish Word of the Day station at the Welcome Center and Wellness Center, featuring a new Spanish word each day.
