Princeton YMCA Receives $50,000 Community Impact Grant from the Princeton Area Community Foundation

Funding supports nonprofits working to make a meaningful impact on children, individuals, and families

Princeton, N.J., November 24, 2025 – Princeton YMCA, a branch of Greater Somerset County YMCA, has been awarded a $50,000 Community Impact Grant from the Princeton Area Community Foundation. Community Impact Grants support nonprofits working to address the needs of under-resourced individuals, families, and communities. These grants are made possible through the generous support of individuals, companies, and foundations, including Johnson & Johnson and the Burke Foundation.

Princeton YMCA serves as a community hub offering programs that support youth development, healthy living, social responsibility, and foster belonging. The branch provides access to wellness opportunities, swim lessons, sports and fitness classes for all ages, inclusive programs for teens and adults, community events, and a vibrant summer day camp. Through partnerships with local schools and organizations, the Y also helps connect individuals and families to resources that promote well-being and social connection.

With a longstanding commitment to youth development, Princeton YMCA offers a wide range of programs that help young people reach their full potential — from youth sports and enrichment classes that build confidence and character to swim instruction that teaches essential water-safety skills and teen leadership opportunities that foster responsibility and community engagement. This Community Impact Grant will strengthen and expand these offerings, ensuring that the most vulnerable youth in the community have access to the support and opportunities they need to thrive.

“We thank the Princeton Area Community Foundation for supporting Princeton YMCA,” said Heather Scapp, District Vice President of Operations, Greater Somerset County YMCA. “This grant helps ensure youth we serve in the Princeton community can learn, grow, and thrive.”
