Greater Somerset County YMCA Earns CDC Recognition for Diabetes Prevention Program for Second Consecutive Year
Basking Ridge, NJ, November 24, 2025 – Greater Somerset County YMCA is proud to announce that its Diabetes Prevention Program has earned CDC Full Plus Recognition for the second consecutive year, a distinction reserved for programs that meet rigorous quality and retention standards.
Program Highlights per CDC Evaluation Report Nov 2025:

Outstanding Retention and Participation: 81% of participants met completion criteria, with exceptional retention of 80-90% at 4, 7, and 10 months

Exceeding Outcomes: Percentage of program completers achieving national risk reduction benchmarks out-performed national standards by more than 10%

High Eligibility: 62% of participants met program eligibility standards, reflecting exceptional recruitment efforts

Reduction in Baseline Blood Tests: 14% of participants realized a reduction of at least .02% in HbA1C results, well above national average of 2%
This recognition underscores Greater Somerset County YMCA’s commitment to improving community health and well-being through impactful, evidence-based programs.
