Plainfield YMCA Spreads Warmth with Winter Coats
Plainfield, NJ, December 6, 2024 – As temperatures drop, Plainfield YMCA, a branch of Greater Somerset County YMCA, is bringing warmth to the community by distributing generously donated winter coats to those in need.
Last month, Somerset Hills YMCA, another branch of Greater Somerset County YMCA, collected nearly 300 coats. These donations will provide comfort and relief to families in need and were distributed during Plainfield YMCA’s bi-weekly food drive. This initiative highlights the power of Greater Somerset County YMCA’s interconnected community, where branches work together to extend compassion and support across neighborhoods—strengthening the bonds between communities and ensuring no one is left out in the cold.
“We are deeply grateful for the incredible outpouring of support that has made a real difference during these colder months,” said Leonardo Gonzalez, Senior Program Director at Plainfield YMCA. “The thoughtful donations from Somerset Hills YMCA have been a lifeline for many residents in Plainfield.”
Greater Somerset County YMCA is proud to collaborate with organizations and businesses that share the vision of building stronger, connected communities.
