Plainfield YMCA Achievers Program Launches with Strong Start, Empowering Local Students
Plainfield, N.J. – November 7, 2024 – Plainfield YMCA, a branch of Greater Somerset County YMCA, is excited to announce the successful launch of its Achievers Program, which began in October with the aim of equipping students with essential tools for college and career readiness. With seven students already enrolled and actively participating, the program is off to a promising start, providing impactful resources and personalized support.
The Achievers Program is designed as a comprehensive support system, helping students access guidance and resources necessary to achieve their academic, personal, and career aspirations. In its first month, the program welcomed expert speakers who led sessions on resume development, finance, public speaking, and applying for financial assistance, equipping participants with valuable skills for their future.
“We are thrilled by the positive response to the Achievers Program and the dedication of our participating students,” said Leonardo Gonzalez, Senior Program Director at Plainfield YMCA. “Our goal is to provide a space where students feel supported and inspired to reach their full potential.”
Plainfield YMCA aims to expand the Achievers Program to reach even more students who could benefit from its offerings. By increasing enrollment, the Y continues its mission to empower young people and foster success within the community.
