Somerset Hills YMCA and Bernards Township Police Team Up for Back-to-School Drive Benefiting Local Foster Families
Basking Ridge, September 10, 2024 – Throughout August, Somerset Hills YMCA partnered with the Bernards Township Police Department to host a back-to-school supply drive, collecting essential items for children supported by Embrella, an organization dedicated to foster, adoptive, and kinship families.
As the summer came to a close, the generosity of the community was evident in the overwhelming donations of notebooks, pens, binders, crayons, markers, and more. The YMCA collected backpacks and supplies to ensure children have the tools they need for a successful school year. “Supporting children in our community as they prepare for the school year is central to our mission,” said Washima Redding, District Vice President of Operations. “We are grateful for the community’s generosity, and proud to play a role in equipping these kids with the essentials to thrive.”
