Plainfield YMCA and Rotary Club of the Plainfields Partner to Provide Prom Attire to Local Students
Plainfield, NJ, April 30, 2024 – Over the weekend Plainfield YMCA, a branch of Greater Somerset County YMCA and Rotary Club of the Plainfields joined forces at Church of the Holy Cross in North Plainfield to offer prom-going students the opportunity to shop for attire at no cost.
Nearly 300 items, including new and gently worn dresses, suits, shoes, jewelry, ties, and accessories in various sizes and styles, were made available to students, ensuring they have everything they need for their special night.
The collaboration was made possible through the generous support of Somerset Hills and Somerville YMCA branches, which collected and housed all of the donations.
“We are grateful for the partnership with Rotary Club of the Plainfields, as well as the support of Somerset Hills and Somerville YMCAs,” shares Leonardo Gonzalez, Senior Program Director at Plainfield YMCA. “Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of local students, ensuring they can attend prom with confidence and joy.”
