Greater Somerset County YMCA STORM Swimmer Anna Moesch Contributes to USA Medal Tally at 2023 World Junior Swimming Championships

World Aquatics, formerly known as the Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA), held its 9th World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships in Netanya, Israel, from September 4th to the 9th. The World Aquatics Jr. Swimming Championships is considered one of the most competitive events for elite 18/U swimmers from all over the world, with more than 600 athletes and 100 national federations participating.

Team USA dominated the medal tally at the 2023 World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships earning 33 medals. Anna won an individual bronze medal in the 100 Freestyle and was part of the silver-medal winning 4×100 Mixed Freestyle Relay and 4×100 Women’s Freestyle Relay squads.

“This was my third time being a part of Team USA, yet this experience was even more humbling and exciting than before! It was a great opportunity to stand alongside some of the most talented athletes in our sport, both from Team USA and other federations,” says Anna, “Representing your own country is always an honor, and the friends I made during this journey will remain in my life forever. Hearing your national anthem play is a feeling that never gets old.”

Greater Somerset County YMCA is extremely proud of Anna!
