ASHTANGA YOGA WORKSHOP
Ever been curious about the Primary Series of Ashtanga?
Our 75-min Ashtanga Yoga Workshop with Carol Sze is for the intermediate-level yogi. Learn the opening mantra, in Sanskrit, which pays tribute to past gurus. The workshop covers half of the Primary Series including a warm-up of Sun Salutation A and B followed by over 40 asanas comprised of standing, sitting, and inversions. Learn some Sanskrit during the Sun Salutations as well as breathwork. Each asana is held for five (5) counts of breath.
The workshop focuses on explaining the proper form for each of the asanas and their order so that the yogi can continue to work on form. No background music accompanies the practice. Class ends with the traditional Savasana.
